Religious Education

UU Principles

Our curricula and classes are based on the Principles of the Unitarian Universalist Association.

We believe:

  • That each and every person is important;

  • That all people should be treated fairly;

  • That our congregations are places where all people are accepted and where we keep on learning together;

  • That each person must be free to search for what is true and right in life;

  • That everyone should have a vote about the things that concern them;

  • In working for a peaceful, fair and free world;

  • In caring for our planet earth.

Below is what is offered on a typical Sunday.

Infants and Toddlers

The nursery is available and is staffed to provide consistency. The second person is a volunteer from the fellowship and rotates through a list of names. Of course you may stay together as a family and enjoy the Family Corner in the sanctuary during worship. Coloring pages may be available sometimes and the Fidget Box has some quiet finger toys to use during the worship.

In General

The  Religious Education program is held concurrently with the Sunday worship service for all ages of grade school children.  Religious education follows the Soul Matters program to connect with the themes used in our worship services. All types of activities, play, creativity  and sharing are used to assist in faith development of our children and youth.

The Youth Group  is for grades 7 through 12 and meets the second and fourth Sundays of each month from 4:00 to 6:00 PM in the Youth Room with two energetic youth advisers.

Foster the compassion and confidence that allows our children  and youth to use their unique gifts to make a positive change in the world.
