Building Expansion

After much careful planning and effort, the fellowship is moving forward with plans to expand our building. This expansion will give us the room we need for our religious education programs, the growing membership, and community outreach.

The site has been cleared and stumped. Digging has begun for the footings. The Building Committee has met with the Architect and General Contractor to make adjustments to the electrical plans. At the next meeting, there will be discussion of finishes, and by that time the foundation should be underway.

The foundation is well underway, and the concrete is being poured this week. Finishes such as wall colors, stains on doors and tile choices were discussed, and the Architects will present choices to the Committee at the next meeting. The need for an exterminator is being addressed, one who will be able to recommend mitigation for the ant problem.

An exterminator visit prepared the existing structure where the slab and the new building are to meet. The evidence of an ant infestation has been addressed. The structure of the floor of the Fellowship Hall has been completed. There are interior walls assembled in the RE space, as well as the storage space. We expect the remaining walls to go up quickly, and the roof to follow shortly thereafter.

July/August update will be added during the week of August 9th.
